Aerobic Lateral step ups exercise is a good workout for building strength, toning muscles and developing balance and coordination. It’s a compound body workout that engages several body muscles. Step ups exercise is an overall body workout that can help you in increasing the flexibility and strength in lower body specifically. To develop leg strength, increasing the height of the box is another option. Height will make the workout more challenging and enhances the benefits. Lateral step ups work for shaping your thighs and buttocks including build muscles in gluteus, hamstrings, inner and outer thighs.

Step 1

Bend your knees, loosening your arms and jump up with both feet on to the step jump

Step 2

Then squat down slightly and jump down to the starting position. If you are unable to jump, you can step up with one leg followed but the other, and then back down one at a time with a quick tempo. Perform 20 times or see how many you can do in one minute.
